CSU-Pueblo goal was to utilize renewable energy and decreasing its impact on the environment.
It aimed to be the first university in its state to reach “net zero electricity” efficiency, using solar power as the main generating source for the academic campus.

Solutions
Johnson Controls installed a 23-acre solar farm with battery storage that supplies 12M kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity.
With this microgrid solution, CSU-Pueblo has locked in its electricity costs for the next 25 years.
Results
The first university in its state to reach “net zero electricity” for all the academic facilities.
Solar panels provide 100% net solar production for the campus.
CSU-Pueblo has become greener, more independent and more resilient.
CSU-Pueblo has far exceeded three of the four greening government goals including greenhouse gas emissions, energy management, and renewable energy.
