FlowSafe Stable Vortex™ Fume Hood Conversion Kit

FlowSafe Stable Vortex™ Fume Hood Conversion Kit

The FlowSafe Stable Vortex™ Fume Hood Conversion Kit converts conventional fume hoods into high-performance hoods utilizing the same technology as the Stable Vortex™ II Fume Hood. On average, the Conversion Kit costs 50-60% less than replacing an entire fume hood.

Convert Your Laboratory with Ease

Designed to accommodate a variety of hood sizes without altering your fume hood superstructure, the Conversion Kit eliminates the need for expensive and time-consuming full hood replacements. Using the same technology as the award-winning FlowSafe Stable Vortex™ II Fume Hood, the hood helps create safer working spaces and more energy-efficient critical environments.

Upgraded Fume Hood Technology

The Conversion Kit used the patented FlowSafe Stable Vortex™ technology to prevent contaminated air from spilling back into the user’s breathing zone. The hood creates a vortex of air within the upper chamber of the hood to constantly contain the air, so no airborne toxic pathogens can escape.

The hood’s dynamic baffles adjust to environmental changes like user movement, sash movement, room airflow disturbances, and thermal changes to keep the vortex steady and containment constant.

Custom Design

Design options include all standard hood utilities. Custom paint, fit, and finishes are available to accommodate your unique laboratory.

Intuitive Monitoring with the VMS-1655M

The VMS-1655M Fume Hood Monitor measures and controls vortex pressure to maintain accurate fume hood containment for FlowSafe hoods. Its alarm function notifies users if fume hood performance is ever compromised. The monitor features a touchscreen user interface, visual and audible alarms with Safety Halo™ 360° edge lighting and is BACnet® MS/TP compatible.

Flexible Installation

The conversion kit not only saves money, but also accommodates flexibility for places like universities and other educational institutions which routinely schedule installation during summers and holidays breaks.

Create a Safer Workspace

The hood’s stabilized airflow pattern and vertical sash panel creates a safer environment for users as it prevents toxic air from spilling back into the user’s breathing zone.

The reduction in required airflow intake makes working with powders and chemicals easier in labs, and the glowing, color-coded VMS-1655M Fume Hood Monitor provides a clear signal if the fume hood is safe to use.

Low Noise, Fewer Distractions

A byproduct of the patented fume hood design is that it requires less conditioned air to properly contain which also results in significantly less noise when compared to conventional fume hoods.

The reduced noise of each hood means labs can be dual purposed as lecture labs within high schools and universities.

The LED lighting provides clear visibility, even in dimly lit spaces.
