At Johnson Controls, we’ve engineered our VSD Series III Open Drives to deliver outstanding HVAC control solutions at an exceptional value. Our patented Active Energy Control software extends beyond the drive to maximize motor efficiency at any speed. These are more than just drives – our Series III Open Drives feature an ultra-efficient DC capacitor and a power structure that allows the drives to consume less energy, lowering greenhouse gases and saving you money. Both NEMA Type 1 and NEMA Type 12 are available.

VS3 Series III Open Drives deliver defining specification features:

  • Conformal coating on power and control boards as standard
  • Standard Input/Output (I/O): 8 digital inputs (DI), 1 digital output (DO), 2 analog inputs (AI), 2 analog outputs (AO), 2 form C relays (FC), 1 form A relays (FA)
  • BACnet/IP and MS/TP, Modbus TCP, Modbus Remote Terminal Unit (RTU), Johnson Controls SA bus on board every drive (no option cards)

  • Redundant Auto, Run and Fault LEDs located to replicate keypad LEDs in the event the keypad is removed
  • Active energy control to minimize energy losses in the motor, resulting in industry-leading energy efficiency for your application
  • Power the control logic from an external auxiliary control panel for internal drive functions and fieldbus if necessary
