A wave of building performance standards (BPS) laws is sweeping the nation. Laws in six jurisdictions are set to take effect by 2025, and others are expected to pass legislation in the near future. Most of these mandates have set a deadline of 2050. However, they vary by region and building type, so there's no one-size-fits-all solution.

This white paper explains how to comply with new BPS legislation affordably. It shows how building owners everywhere can benefit from designing a timely, cost-effective sustainability plan. It describes the consequences of inaction, and offers four action steps that building owners can take today to address BPS. What's more, it outlines the many ways the sustainability experts at Johnson Controls can help.
