Smart

Johnson Controls gives direct support to nonprofit organizations whose programs drive student success, especially in the areas of science, technology, engineering, the arts and math (STEAM).

The Johnson Controls Community College Partnership Program is on track to donate up to $15 million by the end of 2026 to expand access to educational programs in HVAC, fire, security and digital disciplines. Now in 30 community colleges, the program engages students from historically underrepresented groups and supports them in preparing for and embarking on career paths in sustainable building practices.

Response to the Sustainable Development Goals of United Nations

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations member states in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries, in a global partnership.

The United Nations recognizes that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequity, and spur economic growth, all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.

Johnson Controls uses these goals as a base in the creation of community engagement and philanthropic strategy, and our work is in support of them. Organizations that Johnson Controls supports within our smart, healthy and sustainable categories have missions tied to one or more of these goals.
