July 2019 – Johnson Controls today announced its inclusion on the FTSE4Good Index Series for 2019. This is the 14th year the company has earned this recognition.

In a letter to Johnson Controls CEO George Oliver, David Harris, head of Sustainable Investment for global index provider FTSE Russell wrote, “FTSE4Good is a global sustainable investment index series, designed to identify companies that demonstrate strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices measured against international standards. Following the FTSE4Good Index Review in June 2019, I am pleased to inform you that your company is a member of the FTSE4Good Index Series.”

The FTSE4Good Index Series measures the performance of companies that meet or exceed globally recognized corporate ethical standards and environmental and social responsibility criteria. The FTSE4Good Index Series helps to facilitate investment in those companies.

“Sustainability is an integral part of our vision and values. Our company’s sustainability efforts are guided by our leadership’s triple bottom line philosophy focused on achieving economic prosperity, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship."

Grady Crosby, vice president of Public Affairs and Chief Diversity Officer

“We are honored to be recognized by the FTSE4Good indexes for our long-standing commitment to sustainability,” said Grady Crosby, vice president of Public Affairs and Chief Diversity Officer. “Sustainability is an integral part of our vision and values. Our company’s sustainability efforts are guided by our leadership’s triple bottom line philosophy focused on achieving economic prosperity, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship. We believe balanced management attention to profit, people, and the planet will result in the greatest long-term benefit for our customers, employees, shareholders, and society as a whole.”

To qualify, FTSE Russell confirms Johnson Controls has been independently assessed according to the FTSE4Good criteria and has satisfied the requirements to become a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index Series. FTSE4Good is an equity index series that is designed to facilitate investment in companies that meet globally recognized corporate responsibility standards.
