Johnson Controls, the global leader for smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings, is dedicated to creating more sustainable communities through volunteerism. With this in mind, the company established a goal to reach 2 million employee volunteer hours by the end of 2025, which has been achieved a year ahead of schedule. As of Sept. 30, 2024, employees had logged 2,001,495 volunteer hours.

This achievement is part of a historic year for employee volunteerism at Johnson Controls. For the second consecutive year, the company set a record for volunteer hours in a single year, with 71,943 hours logged in 2024—a 17% increase from last year’s record-setting performance.

During its inaugural Global Volunteer Month in June, Johnson Controls recorded more than 21,000 volunteer hours, setting a new company record for the most volunteer hours recorded in a single campaign.

Through its global volunteer program, Johnson Controls makes donations on behalf of employees when they volunteer. As part of the 2 million volunteer hours, Johnson Controls donated $402,000 USD to more than 2,200 causes in 42 countries during fiscal year 2024. In 2023, total giving from Johnson Controls and the Johnson Controls Foundation was $12.7 million, which includes donations Johnson Controls made to nonprofits on behalf of employees who volunteered their time.

Johnson Controls remains committed to serving the communities where we work, live, and play. The company has announced a new goal of 2.5 million volunteer hours by 2035.
